About Campus Compass
A smarter way for students to evaluate colleges — built on logic, not rankings.
Weighted Decision Matrices
Assign weights to what actually matters to you — cost, academic fit, campus culture, career outcomes — and let the math surface your best match.
AI-Powered Insights
Campus Compass uses AI to classify schools as Reach, Target, or Safety based on your academic profile, and to interpret your results like a knowledgeable counselor.
Built for Students
No consultants required. Campus Compass puts the framework in the hands of students, so every decision is transparent, personal, and defensible.
What Campus Compass Does
Choosing a college is one of the most consequential decisions a young person makes — and most students make it badly. They anchor on brand names, scroll rankings they don't fully understand, and let anxiety or peer pressure fill the gaps where a real framework should be.
Campus Compass replaces that process with something better: a structured, data-informed decision matrix that forces clarity. Students define the criteria that matter most to them, assign weights that reflect their actual priorities, and rate each school honestly. The result isn't a ranking someone else built — it's a ranking that reflects who you are and what you actually need from the next four years.
Campus Compass also includes an optional AI analysis step. Students can enter their GPA, test scores, and course rigor, and the AI will estimate whether each school on their list is likely a Reach, Target, or Safety — providing a sense of competitiveness alongside the personal preference scores from the matrix. An AI counselor then synthesizes the full picture into a concise, honest interpretation: what your top score means, what the numbers don't capture, and the right question to ask yourself before you decide.
Campus Compass is for high school students who are serious about making a well-reasoned decision — and for parents and counselors who want to have more productive conversations about it.
The Founder
Turner Jensen is a high school senior from Colorado with an unusual combination of academic drive, entrepreneurial instinct, and a deep interest in how people make decisions. He carries a 3.9 unweighted GPA across a rigorous AP course load and is drawn to interdisciplinary fields — behavioral economics, psychology, leadership, and public policy — where analytical thinking meets human behavior.
Campus Compass grew out of a problem Turner lived firsthand. As he began seriously evaluating colleges, he found that most students — including himself — were making consequential decisions based on prestige, gut feeling, or whatever their friends were doing, rather than a clear personal framework. The platform he built combines weighted decision matrices with AI-powered admissions insights, giving students a structured, transparent way to compare schools against what actually matters to them.
Beyond the product, Turner brings a perspective shaped by genuine adversity. Experiences with loss and uncertainty at a young age gave him an early understanding of risk, tradeoffs, and the cost of vague thinking. That maturity shows in how he approaches building Campus Compass: not as a flashy side project, but as a meaningful tool he would have wanted himself — and one he hopes can reduce the anxiety and confusion that defines the college decision for too many students.
